The RCP NWE is responsible for the network activity in the north western europe geographical region. It represents the network single point of contact for universities, research institutes and industries that have aeronautics related capabilities.
The North West Europe region brings together three countries with very different levels of aerospace activity and expertise.
The region accounts for around 140 universities and technical institutes that offer higher education. Of these, more than 100 belong to Great Britain, around 20 to The Republic of Ireland and around 15 to The Netherlands. However, the aeronautical disciplines taught and the courses offered varied widely in terms of depth and broadness of the aeronautical spectrum between these three countries as does research capability. In relation to linkages with industry, the situation is similar. With Great Britain having the vast majority of links directly related to aeronautics and to large industrial organizations, and The Republic of Ireland and The Netherlands accounting mainly for links related to various parts in the aeronautical supply chain and to SMEs.
